What's involved with this role: Interim Social Worker – Children’s Social Care Reference no: Hartlepool 1003818114922898 Pay Rate: £208.42 per day PAYE 35-37 Monday – Friday, normal working hours This opening assignment is for 3 months City: HARTLEPOOL Hybrid working, working 3 days in the office Enhanced DBS required for this role An experienced Social Worker is required to work within the Safeguarding Assessment and Support Team. Key Responsibilities Work with children and families and provide a comprehensive Social Work service from the point of single assessment through to work on a long term basis. The team support children in need, including those in need of protection by assessing need, creating packages of support and managing risk. Provide high quality services to children, young people and their families. Ensure that work is completed within the stated timescales in accordance with both national and local policy. Manage a mixed workload, including working with vulnerable children, young people, families and carers who experience complex problems. Ensure needs are met and risks are managed to achieve best outcomes for children and young people. Work collaboratively with and develop good working relationships with individual children and young people, families, carers, colleagues and other agencies. Maintain records in relation to recording information about children and families in line with Council policy and procedure. Qualifications: Social Work England registration. Possess or graduate this year with a Social Work qualification at a degree or diploma level (or equivalent). Knowledge: Demonstrate considerable knowledge of current childcare legislation and guidance and regulation. Demonstrate significant knowledge of theory, research, policy and the law relating to social work with children and families, including understanding of child development. Knowledge of key theories and methods for work with children, young and families such as child development, systems theory and restorative practice. Knowledge of the law, policy, and up-to-date research and guidance. Experience: Minimum of 12 months experience Skills & Abilities: Strong IT skills including Microsoft packages or equivalent (e.g. G Suite). Ability to produce concise, literate reports and plans using the accepted agency frameworks, which specify evidence-based interventions and related outcomes. Demonstrate ability to take responsibility for workload and priorities, and to use own initiative to respond independently to problems and unexpected situations, seeking support from the Team Manager as appropriate. Ability to write in a clear, concise and professional way and be understood by a variety of audiences. Ability to work in partnership with other agencies to secure positive outcomes and help children, young people, families and carers to access resources.
