Join us at Built Environment – Smarter Transportation (BE-ST) as an Impact Manager to play a crucial part in accelerating the built environment’s transition to zero carbon emissions.
As BE‑ST moves into its infrastructure investment and growth phase, we’re looking for someone with strong skills development, collaboration and project delivery experience to shape and deliver high‑impact programmes across the built environment ecosystem.
The Role
At BE‑ST, collaboration is everything. You’ll play a key role in creating new communities and partnerships that unite the right people, skills and ideas to achieve meaningful change across the sector.
* Proactively identify, shape and develop new opportunities across existing and emerging sectors within the built environment.
* Support the delivery of complex, multi‑partner innovation projects, ensuring strong collaboration, compliance and high‑quality outcomes.
* Contribute to BE‑ST’s business and bid development strategy, including preparing funding and commercial bids.
* Act as a trusted point of contact for businesses, helping them collaborate, innovate and access funding to improve competitiveness and drive impact.
* Build and grow networks that bring together industry, academia, government and skills providers.
* Keep a close eye on future trends, technologies and funding opportunities to position BE‑ST ahead of the curve.
* Develop, lead and drive BE‑ST’s skills programme for the built environment across priority thematic areas.
* Design, deliver and scale the skills programme, expanding its reach, impact and relevance to industry needs.
Who we’re looking for
* A business development or innovation support background, with a strong track record of building collaborations.
* Experience working closely with businesses in or around the built environment.
* Strong project management skills, ideally delivering complex, multi‑stakeholder programmes.
* Excellent communication and influencing skills, with the ability to engage senior stakeholders.
* A good understanding of the construction and built environment sector, both strategically and operationally.
* Experience of bid writing or funding applications (desirable).
What’s in it for you?
* Salary: £46,049 - £58,225 per annum (depending on experience).
* Minimum of 41 days annual leave and the option to purchase additional annual leave.
* Employer pension contributions of 17.6%.
We’re currently operating a hybrid working model. Due to the nature of the role, some travel may be required within Scotland and occasionally within the UK and internationally, but the role is primarily based at our BE‑ST campus in Hamilton.
