Every role at CQC contributes to our mission. If you're looking for a new role in Operational Insights that gives a true sense of meaning and purpose, then you've found it!

As a Senior Analyst (Quant): Medicines Optimisation, you'll help turn complex medicines data into clear, actionable insights that support safer, more effective care across England.

Picture this

Imagine using your analytical skills to influence how medicines are prescribed and used, helping improve outcomes for people using health and care services. You'll be part of a team that values curiosity, collaboration, and impact.

In the last year as a Senior Analyst (Quant) in Operational Insights, you might have:

* Led a project to analyse prescribing trends across NHS organisations, identifying areas for improvement and sharing insights with senior stakeholders.
* Designed and delivered a PowerBI dashboard that helped inspectors quickly assess medicines optimisation performance in care settings.

You'll play an important part in delivering our mission. In this role, you'll:

* Deliver insight: Lead complex analysis using medicines data to generate meaningful insights that support decision-making across CQC.
* Support stakeholders: Work closely with internal and external teams to shape analytical projects and ensure outputs meet their needs.
* Communicate clearly: Create compelling visualisations and reports that make data easy to understand and act on.

Experience working with medicines data: You've used prescribing or similar datasets to produce insights that inform decisions or policy.

Ability to communicate data effectively: You've created visual reports (e.g., in PowerBI) that tell a clear story and support action.

Leadership in analysis: You've led analytical projects or teams, applying a range of methods to solve problems and deliver results.

Qualifications and skills:

* Educated to degree level or have equivalent professional experience.
* Expert quantitative analysis skills, including experience in medicines data, such as prescribing data.
* Experience of basic qualitative analysis.
* Proven ability to set up data systems, specify data cleansing and preparation methods, and structure data for analysis.
* Good understanding of data-modelling best practices and standards.
* Ability to lead teams in applying analysis methods and synthesising findings.
* Experience working flexibly in multidisciplinary teams, engaging well with colleagues and stakeholders.
* Strong decision-making skills and sound judgement with limited supervision.
* Ability to reconcile conflicting views and articulate rationales for actions.
* Leadership in identifying problems and delivering solutions, escalating as appropriate.
* Proven ability to understand stakeholder needs, manage expectations, and influence data use and insights.
* Ability to tailor insight communication effectively, including storytelling and visualisation, particularly using PowerBI.

Successful candidates must undergo a criminal record check and baseline personnel security standard checks.

We offer a wide range of benefits, including:

* Annual leave starting at 27 days, rising to 32.5 days with service, plus bank holidays.
* Training and development opportunities.
* Wellbeing initiatives, such as gym discounts and meditation.
* NHS pension scheme, with around 14% employer contribution.
* Discount schemes, reward vouchers, car leasing, and more! Please see our benefits page for the full list.
