The Group Payroll Manager is responsible for the accurate and timely processing of payroll for all employees across the Greendale Group. This role ensures full compliance with statutory requirements, manages payroll-related benefits and deductions, and provides accurate reporting to both internal and external stakeholders. Acting as the key contact for all payroll matters, the Group Payroll Manager will maintain the highest standards of confidentiality, accuracy and compliance.
Key Responsibilities
* Full monthly administration of the Greendale Group payroll, which comprises seven trading companies and eight payrolls.
* Payment of all salaries and wages, including PAYE, Pension and National Insurance Contributions in line with company deadlines.
* Administration and production of both monthly and end of year returns as required by HMRC, for example P60 and P11D Statements.
* Manage all payroll related employee and director benefits, overseeing and administering salary sacrifice schemes.
* Ensure payroll processes comply with HMRC regulations, RTI and company policies.
* Act as the main point of contact for all payroll questions, concerns or issues, and as requested provide information on, for example, SSP or SMP.
* Management and administration of company pension schemes, including auto-enrolment obligations with The Pension Regulations and any other statutory pension obligations.
* Monthly balance sheet reconciliations of payroll nominal accounts across the Greendale Group.
* Work closely with the Group Financial Controller and Group HR Manager on payroll matters as required.
* Maintain good working knowledge of legislative changes and communicate impacts to both HR and Finance leadership.
Other
* Oversee the Expenses process, including validation of claims and reimbursement in line with company policy.
* Working with the Group HR Manager, regularly review the Expenses Policy and ensure any amendments are updated in the Expenses System.
* Undertake any other duties, which may reasonably be regarded within the nature of the post.
Skills / Competences / Qualifications
* Proven experience in end-to-end payroll management, including pensions administration.
* Strong knowledge of UK payroll and pension legislation, including auto-enrolment.
* CIPP qualifications or equivalent.
* Experience working with pension providers and handling reconciliations.
* Strong numerical and analytical skills with excellent attention to detail.
* Ability to manage multiple deadlines and work under pressure.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Understanding of GDPR and confidentiality when handling sensitive personal information.
* Previous experience working with Cascade Payroll (IRIS) beneficial but not essential.
