About The Role
We are looking for an experienced Social Worker to join our Placements Team. The role involves assessing and approving foster placements, supporting foster carers, and commissioning placements for children looked after by the Council.
Pay Details
* Grade 8 (H) SCP 26-30: £36,124 – £39,513 p.a.
* Grade 9 (I) SCP 31-35: £40,476 – £44,711 p.a.
Hours of Work / Working Pattern
37 hours per week. Main place of work: Docks Office with flexible working arrangements.
Requirements
* Qualified social worker with a post‑qualifying experience working with children, young people and families.
* Experience working in a team.
* Ability to collate information and produce reports.
* Knowledge and understanding of the needs of vulnerable children.
* Knowledge of child development.
* Knowledge of different methods of engaging with children and young people.
* Registration with Social Care Wales (or relevant social work register).
* Enhanced DBS check (required).
On‑call Commitment
The role includes out‑of‑hours support: on average one overnight per week and less than one full weekend per month. An allowance will be paid in addition to core wages. This is not a ‘waking night’ commitment.
