Assists servers in providing efficient service by delivering orders from the kitchen to guests and keeping BOH areas clean, organized and stocked. Creates memorable dining experiences through personalized and genuine interactions.
Responsibilities include:
* Assuring that all material used by server and expeditor is clean and ready for daily operation.
* Possessing knowledge of the position of each diner’s chair in the dining rooms and lounges.
* Setting the outside line with under liner plates, flatware, doilies, linen napkins and any other items needed for the delivering of food.
* Organizing the plates in the window and matching each one with each ticket to run the food out to the tables.
* Setting tables in accordance with facility standards.
* Answering guests’ questions about ingredients and menu items.
* Informing restaurant staff about customers’ feedback or requests.
* Ensuring that each menu item is prepared in the exact detail outlined on each ticket.
* Delivering food orders from the kitchen to customers’ tables rapidly and accurately.
* Correcting the menu item with the chef or expeditor before delivering the menu item to meet the exact specification on the ticket.
* Clearing dishes located in front of guest upon completion of course.
* Keeping work stations well stocked of items and ingredients.
* Cleaning workstations, taking out trash, and vacuuming the dining room.
* Incorporating safe work practices in job performance.
* Regular and reliable attendance.
* Performing other duties as required.
Minimum Requirements:
* High school education; or up to one-month related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred Requirements:
* Previous experience as a Food Runner or similar entry-level role in a restaurant.
Physical Demands:
* Frequently stands, walks, talks and hears.
* Frequently uses hands.
* Regularly reaches with arms and hands.
* Occasionally climbs, balances, stoops, kneels, crawls, crouches, tastes or smells.
* Frequently lifts up to 10 pounds and regularly lifts up to 50 pounds.
* Regularly carries trays above the head with plates of food out to tables in the dining room and lounge area.
* Occasionally works in wet or humid conditions (non-weather); may come into contact with fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals.
* The noise level is moderate.
Certificates/Licenses:
* ServSafe Certified (Food Handler & Alcohol) or TIPS equivalent.
