Drain Engineer — Full Time with 1-in-4 Weeks On‑Call Rota
Experienced, qualified Drain Engineer required to join a busy field team delivering plumbing and drainage diagnostics, repairs, and preventative maintenance. Permanent full-time role with a 1-in-4 weeks on‑call rota providing excellent variety, clear progression and a supportive, safety-first workplace.
Key responsibilities
* Diagnose and resolve drainage faults using CCTV survey, high-pressure jetting, and manual inspections.
* Carry out planned maintenance, patch repairs, drain lining, excavation works and full replacements as required.
* Perform welding, basic plumbing, carpentry and assembly tasks to support site works.
* Operate and maintain company vans, pumps, jetters, CCTV rigs and hand and power tools.
* Complete accurate reports, site records, client-facing job sheets and timesheets on the same day.
* Liaise professionally with customers on site, escalating complex issues to the operations lead.
* Participate in emergency out-of-hours call-outs on the 1-in-4 weeks rota and follow on-call procedures.
* Follow health, safety and environmental procedures and report near-misses and defects.
Required skills and experience
* Proven drain/drainage engineering experience with CCTV, jetting and routine repairs.
* Full UK driving licence; CPCS or equivalent plant qualifications advantageous.
* Good practical welding and plumbing ability and strong competence with hand and power tools.
* Confident with measurements and basic site calculations.
* Clear, professional communication with customers and colleagues.
* Reliable, flexible and able to work autonomously and as part of a team.
* Right to work in the UK.
Desirable
* Experience with drain lining systems or trenchless repairs excavation and drain repairs.
* CSCS or industry-specific health and safety training.
