Fresh People are recruiting for a well-established fresh produce business based in Maidstone, Kent, operating within a fast-paced and time-critical FMCG supply chain. Due to continued growth and commercial demand, a Procurement Manager is required to join the team on a full-time, permanent basis. This is a key role within the business, responsible for managing procurement activity and supporting the delivery of commercial, operational, and supply chain objectives. The Role As Procurement Manager, you will take responsibility for the end-to-end procurement process, working closely with suppliers, growers, and internal teams to ensure consistent supply, product quality, and commercial performance. You will play a key role in developing procurement strategies, managing supplier relationships, and ensuring accurate planning, pricing, and reporting across the supply chain. Key Responsibilities Manage procurement activity across assigned product categories Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned to business targets Negotiate pricing, place orders and manage product through the supply chain Maintain accurate purchase orders and data within the ERP system Work closely with logistics and planning teams to manage supply and stock flow Produce weekly pricing, costing, and commercial reports Manage supplier claims, invoices, and credit notes Build and maintain strong supplier relationships Support continuous improvement across supply chain processes Liaise with internal teams and customers to support commercial delivery Participate in a weekend rota as required About You Previous experience within fresh produce procurement is essential Strong commercial awareness with good numerical ability Experience managing supplier relationships and negotiating pricing Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities Excellent attention to detail and data accuracy Confident communicator with the ability to liaise across multiple departments Experience using ERP systems A proactive and team-focused approach Ability to perform effectively within a fast-paced, time-critical environment How to Apply If you have experience within fresh produce procurement and are looking to take the next step within a fast-paced commercial environment, we would be keen to hear from you.
