Eliburn Support Service is a day service supporting adults with learning disabilities, physical disabilities, complex health care needs, and life-limiting conditions.
This is a fixed-term opportunity to join our team during maternity leave.
The service provides face-to-face support through a high staffing ratio, facilitating access to meaningful activities in both building-based and community settings, tailored to individual outcomes.
The role involves developing and delivering a person-centred, outcome-focused service aligned with West Lothian Council policies, Care Inspectorate guidance, and national strategies.
The successful candidate will demonstrate practical skills and understanding in supporting individuals through creative and holistic approaches, addressing social, health, and wellbeing needs.
Responsibilities include providing full hands-on care, supporting personal care, mobility, nutrition, and hydration.
Support for communication, including understanding and expression, is essential to enable individuals to express their preferences and wishes.
This role can be physically demanding, requiring support to access community and building-based activities meaningfully, along with personal care duties.
Record-keeping, including electronic and written care plans, is part of the role.
Qualifications such as HNC Health and Social Care or SVQ 3 (Health and Social Care – Adults) are desirable but not mandatory; applicants must demonstrate they meet the essential criteria.
This position involves regulated work with vulnerable children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. Successful candidates will need to join or update their PVG Scheme prior to employment.
