Engineering for Kids Braintree is looking for a passionate and outgoing STEM Teaching Assistant to lead fun, hands-on science based sessions for children aged 5–10. You will manage small groups of 10–12 children in STEM activities like Building Bridges, Speedy Car Racers, Tall Towers, and Creating Mazes. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys working with kids and wants to make a positive impact in their local community.
Main Responsibilities:
* Teaching Skills: Deliver hands-on STEM activities using lesson plans provided by Engineering for Kids.
* Supervise: Manage up to 12 children, making sure they are engaged in a safe and fun learning environment.
* Encourage Participation: Encourage teamwork, creativity and confidence in every child.
* Ensure Safety: Ensure all sessions run smoothly and safety by following health and safety guidelines and necessary training
What We are Looking For:
* A friendly, energetic personality and a genuine passion for working with children.
* Good organisational skills and the ability to manage a group effectively.
* Strong communication skills, previous experience with children is a bonus
* Patience, positivity, and reliability.
* Previous experience in engineering is not necessary.
* A valid enhanced DBS check (or willingness to complete one – we can assist).
* Own transport and full UK driving licence (required to reach different class locations on time).
