Overview Our client is looking for an experienced Lecturer to join the Academic/Pearson department in Birmingham. This role focuses on delivering the HND Construction Management program, helping students navigate the legal, environmental, and technological complexities of the modern construction industry.
Core Responsibilities
o Instruction: Plan and deliver high-quality teaching sessions across various undergraduate levels.
o Assessment: Design and execute student assessments, ensuring all Pearson learning outcomes are met.
o Curriculum Development: Update course materials to reflect the latest industry developments and student support practices.
o Student Success: Actively work toward institutional objectives for attendance, student satisfaction, and academic progression.
o Professionalism: Participate in peer observations, staff development, and administrative meetings.
Requirements
o Academic: A Master’s degree in Construction Management or a closely related field (PhD preferred).
o Experience: Previous teaching experience within the UK Higher Education (HE) sector.
o Subject Expertise: Extensive knowledge of construction principles, industry regulations, and technological advancements.
o Operational Skills: Ability to maintain organized student records and deliver accurate reports under tight deadlines.
o Flexibility: Availability to work a 40-hour week including weekdays, evenings, and weekends to suit the delivery model.
o Eligibility: Candidates must possess the existing legal right to work in the UK. (Visa sponsorship is not available).
Desirable Qualifications
o PGCE in Academic Practice or equivalent teaching qualification.
o Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA).
o Experience in designing or developing academic/professional education programmes.
