About You
As a Kitchen Assistant, you will help prepare and serve nutritious meals, maintaining high standards of cleanliness, safety, and hygiene. Your responsibilities include managing food supplies, ensuring proper fridge/freezer temperatures, training new staff, and cleaning kitchen equipment—all with Resident wellbeing as your priority.
We seek candidates with some kitchen experience, preferably with an NVQ2 in Catering or Food Preparation, or the willingness to obtain one. Strong organisational skills, good record keeping, and the ability to follow recipes are essential. You should communicate considerately and kindly with Residents and colleagues.
Safeguarding is everyone's responsibility. You must be able to recognize signs of abuse, harm, or neglect, know what steps to take if concerns arise, and attend relevant safeguarding training. You should also be able to seek advice and escalate issues when necessary.
