Gas Engineer (Commercial)
Salary: £45,000 – £48,000
Location: University of the West of England (Bristol)
Permanent 40 hours per week
About the Role
This is a fantastic opportunity to join a growing and well-established FM provider, working on a secure, long-term contract within a professional and high-performing team.
What You’ll Be Doing
1. Carrying out planned maintenance on gas appliances and pipework in line with industry standards
2. Attending reactive and emergency breakdowns, ensuring timely and effective resolutions
3. Completing minor installation works where required
4. Supporting wider M&E maintenance across site when needed
5. Ensuring all certification, reports, and documentation are completed accurately and on time
6. Supervising subcontractors on site, ensuring quality of work and Health & Safety compliance
7. Working closely with the FM team and Contract Supervisor
8. Meeting contractual KPIs and service level agreements
9. Participating in an on-call rota to provide out-of-hours cover
What We’re Looking For
Essential:
10. Current Gas Safe Registration
11. Commercial gas qualifications: COCN1, CDGA1, CIGA1, CORT1, ICPN1, TCPA1
12. Unvented Hot Water certification
13. Minimum 3 years’ experience in a commercial maintenance environment
14. Strong knowledge of commercial gas systems and plant
15. Experience across mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and heating services (multi-skilled)
16. Full UK driving licence
Desirable:
17. 18th Edition (C&G 2382)
18. OFTEC qualifications (101, 102, 105, 600)
19. IOSH / CSCS / CSR certifications
