The Role
As Technical Services Manager you will lead a team of engineers and operatives, ensuring planned and reactive maintenance is delivered to the highest standards. You will manage remedial works, review inspection reports, and maintain health‑and‑safety documentation. You will take ownership of billable works up to £25k, oversee CAFM maintenance scheduling, record accurate asset updates, and build strong relationships with DSTL stakeholders, VIVO colleagues and the supply chain. Your leadership will nurture talent, mentor apprentices, and develop successors within a high‑performance, safety‑critical environment critical to national defence and innovation.
What You’ll Bring
• Technical HVAC qualification (heating, ventilation or air conditioning) or experience managing contractors and compliance. • Reliability, self‑motivation and effective communication. • Computer literacy and ability to use different CAFM systems – prepared for an admin‑heavy, office‑based role. • Holding or working towards SMSTS and SC clearance is a bonus; prior MOD experience is a definite plus.
