Role: Regional Sales Manager (North, UK)

Location: North UK (field-based, with travel across Birmingham and above)

Employment Type: Full-time, Permanent

Salary: £55,000 per annum

Additional: £4,000 Car Allowance & up to £20,000 bonus

LT Talent is partnering with a respected UK‑based chemical manufacturer recognised for its expertise in producing and supplying surfactants and associated chemical products. The company serves customers across personal care, cosmetics, household, and industrial markets, and also provides contract or manufacturing services to a global customer base.

Our client is now looking to appoint a Regional Sales Manager - North, UK to help strengthen customer relationships, grow sales, and support the delivery of its long‑term commercial objectives.


The Opportunity

This position offers the opportunity to take ownership of a key sales territory while contributing to the company’s commercial success. The role focuses on managing existing accounts, identifying new business opportunities, and building strong relationships with B2B customers across multiple sectors. These include personal care and cosmetics manufacturers, household and industrial cleaning brands, and specialty chemical users in industries such as textiles, agrochemicals, construction, and oil & gas. Customers may also include companies outsourcing production through contract or toll manufacturing, requiring custom formulations or specialty product solutions. The successful candidate will engage with both technical and commercial contacts, understanding their requirements and helping them access the company’s full range of products and capabilities.


Key Responsibilities

* Promote the company’s products and capabilities across existing and prospective customers.
* Manage and develop sales of both manufactured and distributed chemical products through direct accounts and distributor networks.
* Build and maintain long‑term customer relationships through regular communication and visits.
* Identify and engage potential new customers, sectors, and markets.
* Provide quotations, negotiate terms within commercial guidelines, and convert opportunities into sustainable business.
* Follow up on all enquiries and leads from exhibitions, marketing, and digital channels.
* Represent the company at trade shows and industry events in the UK and internationally.
* Work collaboratively with internal departments to ensure a consistent and professional customer experience.
* Maintain awareness of market trends, competitor activity, and customer needs.
* Accurately record and communicate sales activity and market information within company systems.


About You

* 3–5 years’ experience in B2B sales within the chemical or related manufacturing sectors.
* Demonstrated success in both account management and new business development.
* Confident communicator, able to engage technical and commercial stakeholders.
* Self‑motivated, organised, and capable of prioritising effectively.
* Strong commercial acumen with a results‑oriented mindset.
* Collaborative and professional approach with strong administrative discipline.


Success Measures (First 12 Months)

* Growth in tonnage, turnover, and margin across designated accounts or territory.
* Expansion into new application areas or customer segments.
* Increased sales of specialty chemical products to support long‑term customer value.


Ideal Profile

* Ambitious and commercially driven – with a proven ability to grow accounts and generate new business.
* Background in chemicals preferred (experience with surfactants advantageous but not essential).
* Experience in adjacent sectors such as lubricants, industrials, or specialty manufacturing also relevant.
* Capable of identifying new application opportunities in Agro, Textiles, Construction, and Oil & Gas, alongside existing strengths in Personal Care and Cleaning.
* Strong relationship‑builder who brings energy, credibility, and professionalism.
* Degree in Chemistry or a related scientific field.
* Experience in surfactants or related product areas.
