Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen to recruit a band 5 Occupational Therapist (must hold HCPC registration) to join a multidisciplinary team specialising in the delivery of eating disorder services in a day unit setting. The post will be actively supported by onsite management, an MDT, and a band 7 clinical specialist Occupational Therapist. Prior experience and knowledge of eating disorders is welcomed.

This role may be eligible for sponsorship under the UK Visas & Immigration (UKVI) Skilled Worker route. However, sponsorship can only be provided where applicants meet the specific requirements, therefore, we recommend that you assess your eligibility before applying for this position. Visit

Main duties of the job

Carry out occupational therapy assessment and intervention under the clinical supervision of a senior Occupational Therapist. The clinical focus is working with adults experiencing occupational disruption relating to a wide range of eating disorders.

Person Specification

Qualifications

Essential

1. Appropriate professional qualification in occupational therapy role (or pending)
2. Registration with HCPC (or pending)

Desirable

3. Post graduate training in relevant specialist area

Experience

Essential

4. Experience of working in a variety of practice areas whilst on student placements (or postgraduate)

Desirable

5. Experience of supporting people with mental health issues, learning disability or autism
6. Experience of working in Multidisciplinary Team

Knowledge

Essential

7. Awareness of professional standards and their application to practice
8. Understanding of the needs of service users with mental health conditions and/or learning disabilities

Desirable

9. Clinical Risk Assessment and Management and its application in practice.
10. Knowledge of the evidence base for the clinical practice area

Skills

11. Record keeping and report writing
12. Collaborating with service users and carers/ families in accordance with principles of co-production
13. Good observational skills and ability to describe such observations verbally and in writing
14. Able to work flexibly and co operatively as part of a team.
