About the role:
Our North Harbour Campus is a thriving centre for construction, building services and more. This role involves planning, preparing, and delivering high-quality lessons, as well as assessing and supporting students in their learning journey. While a teaching qualification is beneficial, we can provide the necessary training and support for applicants to achieve their teaching qualifications.
Key Responsibilities:
* To teach on a range of programmes, providing high-quality learning opportunities that meet the needs of individual students/apprentices and groups in line with the College’s strategic priorities and objectives.
* To provide flexible assessment opportunities and closely plan, monitor, track and record student/apprentice retention, achievement, and success.To contribute to the development and delivery of high-quality, relevant curriculum and programmes. Curriculum Development responsibilities include:
* Actively contributing to the development of new programmes within the curriculum area
* Producing annual schemes of work and/or training plans for all subjects/programmes to be taught
* Delivering lessons on topics like thermodynamics, system design, installation, and maintenance of RAC systems
* Running practical workshops, helping learners develop real-world skills in diagnostics, repair, and compliance with safety standards.
* Assessing student progress, providing feedback, and supporting their development toward qualifications like NVQs or apprenticeships.
* Keeping the curriculum current by integrating new technologies and industry regulations.
* Mentoring learners, helping them build confidence and prepare for careers in HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning)

To be successful in this role, below is what we would need from you:
* A Level 3 or higher qualification in refrigeration or air conditioning.
* Industry experience (often 2+ years).
* A teaching qualification (or willingness to work toward one).
* Strong communication and organisational skills.
* Teaching Qualification or willing to work towards
* Ability to meet targets within set timescales
* Ability to work well in teams but also to work independently, with the minimum of supervision
* Industry experience in Refrigeration and Mechanical Engineering
* Qualified to Level 3, or equivalent, in a Refrigeration discipline.
