Description
Ultra Precision Control Systems (PCS) are looking for a Lean Practitioner to join our Continuous Improvement team. Reporting to the Head of Continuous Improvement, this role is key in driving continuous improvement across the organisation by applying Lean principles, methodologies and tools. The Lean Practitioner will work closely with teams and stakeholders at all levels, providing coaching, facilitating workshops and leading improvement projects. They will play an integral role in embedding a culture of problem solving and operational excellence across the organisation to support the business in achieving its core goals and enhanced customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
* This role is responsible for identifying waste, improving processes, and fostering a culture of operational excellence.
* Build and support the delivery of core Operations KPIs, establishing robust reporting methods and enabling measured improvements.
* Lead and facilitate Lean improvement projects across departments.
* Conduct and coach key lean tools such as value stream mapping, problem solving, root cause analysis, 5S, Visual Management, Standard Work and Kaizen.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and eliminate non-value-added activities in processes across the business.
* Identify and support the execution of projects that drive improvement in our key business measures and Operational Excellence Assessment model.
* Support in the delivery of lean training and coach team members on Lean concepts and techniques.
* Track, measure and report the impact of improvement initiatives.
* Support in the standardisation of best practices and documentation of common activities across the business.
* Promote a culture of continuous improvement and employee engagement.
Required Skills & Experience
* 2+ years of experience in Lean, Continuous Improvement or operational excellence roles.
* Preferred experience in an Aerospace or other highly regulated manufacturing industry.
* Strong knowledge and experience in applying Lean methodologies and tools.
* Hands on Problem solver who can lead improvement initiatives, train teams and support strategic goals.
* Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders at all levels within the organisation.
* Demonstrated facilitation and project management skills.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a data-driven approach to decision-making.
* Results-oriented, with a continuous improvement mindset – constantly seeking opportunities to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
* Understanding of production processes, quality control, cost management and process adherence.
