We are recruiting on behalf of a small animal practice in Melton Mowbray for a Permanent Veterinary Surgeon to join their team.
The practice is looking for a vet with good experience gained in a small animal practice who has excellent communication skills in order to inform and support clients and a genuine interest in animal welfare. You must have good general surgical and medical skills and be passionate about keeping up to date with your own professional development. Ideally, you will have good ultrasound skills but not essential. You must have the confidence to work sole charge on occasion.
This role is full time for 4 days per week with 1 night on-call per week and 1 weekend per month on-call which is supported by an RVN.

Key details:
11. Type: Small animal
12. Hours: Full time, 4 days per week, shifts from 8:30am to 5:30pm
13. Weekends: 1 in 4 weekends on-call
14. Sole charge: On occasion
15. OOH: 1 night per week on-call
16. Branch work: N/A
17. Computer system: Cirrus
18. Consultations: 15 minutes
19. Team: 3 vets, 5 RVNs and a supportive non-clinical team

35. You will be comfortable with routine surgeries
36. Ideally you will be confident with ultrasounds

40. You will be able to establish good working relationships with clients and be confident in all consultations
41. You will contribute to the practice with ideas enabling them to stay at the forefront of clinical thinking whilst also maintaining the ethos of providing a high standard of clinical care to all pets
