Transport Coordinator / Transport Planner
Location: Wednesbury, UK
Salary: £35,000 per annum (DOE)
Hours: Monday – Friday, 8:00am – 5:30pm (flexibility & out-of-hours contact required for 24-hour operation)
Contract: Permanent
We are seeking an experienced Transport Coordinator / Planner to join a busy and fast-paced logistics operation based in Wednesbury. This is a great opportunity for someone with strong planning and organisational skills to play a key role in ensuring smooth transport operations across the UK.
Key Responsibilities

Plan and coordinate daily routes, including UK-wide tramping work.
*
Maximise efficiency through effective link and back loading.
*
Brief and debrief drivers, ensuring all documentation is accurate.
*
Liaise with warehouse teams to manage trailer and equipment availability.
*
Maintain Health & Safety standards, including defect reporting and PPE.
*
Communicate with drivers, clients, senior management, and sister companies.
*
Investigate issues such as missing or damaged goods.
*
Complete PODs, worksheets, and scheduling for invoicing.
*
Monitor transport costs and support operational improvements.
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate will be:

Experienced in general haulage transport planning.
*
Knowledgeable in drivers’ hours, working time regulations, and transport legislation.
*
IT literate with strong administration and reporting skills.
*
Flexible, professional, and customer-focused.
*
Honest, reliable, and able to work well under pressure.
*
Qualified with a CPC.
