JOB ROLE: Deputy Care Home Manager
LOCATION: Newport, Gwent (NP20)
SALARY: £14.80 - £16.20* per hour
Accomplish Group are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Deputy Care Home Manager to join our team. The successful candidate will assist the Care Home Manager in the daily operations of our care home, ensuring the delivery of high-quality care and support to our residents.
About Woodside:
At Woodside Cottage, we offer bespoke support and enablement for eight people with Learning Disabilities and additional support needs such as Autism, Acquired Brain Injury, Prada Willie Syndrome, complex health needs, or physical disabilities. We encourage and motivate each person to feel good about themselves, gain confidence, and lead happy, fulfilled lives. We ensure their voice is heard in every aspect of their lives.
The Elms is separate from the main house and features two studio apartments, offering a clear progression pathway for self-development and personal growth. These private spaces enable skill development or coaching sessions, allowing residents to trial independence in a supportive, risk-managed environment with 24-hour staffing assistance.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Support the Care Home Manager in overall management, including staff management, resident care, and administrative tasks.
2. Assist in recruitment, training, and supervision of care staff, ensuring compliance with standards and best practices.
3. Oversee assessment, care planning, and implementation of care plans tailored to residents' individual needs and preferences.
4. Monitor and evaluate the quality of care, identifying areas for improvement and implementing changes.
5. Maintain accurate records, including resident files, staff rosters, and financial documents.
6. Act as a point of contact for residents, families, and external stakeholders, addressing concerns professionally.
7. Ensure compliance with legislation, regulations, and policies to promote a safe environment.
8. Participate in meetings and training to support team development.
We are looking for a Deputy Manager who has:
1. Proven experience in a similar healthcare or social care role.
2. A relevant qualification such as NVQ Level 3 or Diploma in Health and Social Care.
3. Strong leadership and communication skills to motivate teams.
4. Excellent organizational and time management abilities with attention to detail.
5. A compassionate attitude towards residents, families, and colleagues.
6. Knowledge of legislation and regulations, including CQC standards.
7. IT proficiency, especially with care management systems.
