About the Role The successful candidate will deliver engaging and well-structured Food Technology lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, encouraging pupils to develop confidence in practical cooking while gaining an understanding of nutrition, food preparation, and healthy living. You will inspire pupils to explore food from both a practical and theoretical perspective, developing their skills in planning, preparation, and evaluation. The role also includes supporting pupils to understand the importance of healthy lifestyles, sustainability, and food safety. Key responsibilities include: Planning and delivering engaging Food Technology lessons across KS3 and KS4 Teaching pupils practical cooking skills, nutrition, and food preparation techniques Encouraging creativity, independence, and problem-solving in practical work Assessing pupil progress and providing clear, constructive feedback Maintaining a safe and organised kitchen environment in line with health and safety guidelines Supporting the development of the Design & Technology curriculum Contributing to enrichment activities such as cooking clubs or healthy eating initiatives Experience and Skills The successful candidate will: Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent teaching qualification Have strong subject knowledge in Food Technology or a related field Demonstrate enthusiasm for practical teaching and pupil engagement Possess strong classroom management and organisational skills Be committed to inclusive teaching and supporting pupils of all abilities Show initiative, creativity, and a collaborative approach to teaching Why Join This School?
