Community Integrated Care is one of the UK’s largest health and social care charities. We work hard to enriching the lives of people with many different care needs. It’s exciting and rewarding work, and we’re full of pride and passion for what we do.
Since the early days, we’ve grown to provide many innovative and bespoke care services to thousands of people across England and Scotland. We want to provide support based on the principles of choice, dignity and respect. This resonates in our vision of ‘Your Life, Your Choice’ and our strategy ‘Best Lives Possible’.
We have strong values and we’re proud to pioneer new ways of delivering social care to stand out in our sector. In the past two years, we have won or made the shortlist for over national and regional awards!
We are also focused on our people. Our Support Workers are dedicated and passionate about going ‘the extra mile’ for the people we support and in return, we go the extra mile for them by investing in pay, recognition, wellbeing and continued professional and personal development. We will provide you with all the training, support and personal protective equipment you need in your role and will help you develop, should you decide you want to develop your career with us.
Who you’ll be supporting & more about the role:
Do you enjoy seeing people get the most out of each day and achieve what they want in life? Community Integrated Care is currently seeking dedicated and compassionate bank Support Workers for a service based in Peterhead. As a Support Worker, you will have a passion to enhance the life of the young lady you will be supporting. Our ideal candidate will be positive and motivated and comfortable supporting this lady during periods of challenging behaviour. As a Support Worker, you will work closely with the Service Leader and our staff team to provide support 2:1 support and you will support this young lady in her daily life with personal care and help to promote a positive, active and healthy lifestyle. You should have some key technical skills, including being able to use basic IT systems. The lady we support is very active within the community and enjoys a variety of interests that include swimming, bowling, drives in the car, walks, trampolining, meals out and meeting up with family and friends as well as gardening. We have a variable shift pattern and require flexibility to work some weekends. Our shifts include: - 8.30am - 3pm - 3pm - 10pm - 10pm - 8.30am (waking nights and sleepover). There are 2 support staff working during the day and 2 overnight. One of the staff will be a sleepover and the other is Waking Nights. One of the values of Community Integrated Care is our passion for our people and every year we invest in our front-line worker pay in line with the Living Wage increase each April. Our promise has always been clear: we will do everything in our power to improve pay for colleagues. Sometimes the people we support really need a male or female person to support them. For this particular role, a female colleague is required. This is a genuine occupational requirement as defined by the Equality Act. Due to the complexities of this Service we require experienced personnel.
Your values:
The people we support like to be supported by people who respect them and their homes, but who also like to have fun! We like people who are reliable and honest, so the people we support can build trust and know that you have their best interests at heart. It’s important that you are reliable and honest and can communicate well with everyone.
