Prospero Teaching are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Class Teacher to work in one of our inspirational Alternative Provision settings in Newcastle on a full-time and long-term basis to start ASAP. Applications from ECTs are welcome and there will be opportunities for part of the ECT qualification to be completed whilst in the role. The School supports pupils across the Primary and Secondary age range.
About the Role:
1. The role will involve planning and delivering lessons to small classes of pupils with a wide range of SEND such as SEMH of varying levels.
2. Pupils have been excluded from mainstream School and some pupils may display challenging behaviour, so the resilience of the successful candidate will be key.
3. Stretching and challenging the learning and progress all pupils
4. Building positive relationships with pupils and Teaching Assistants to create excellent learning environments.
5. A key part of the role will be to differentiate lessons appropriately and work effectively alongside other members of staff to ensure all pupils are able to make progress and are taught in a way that is suited to their individual needs and learning styles.

Pay, Hours and Contract:
9. Pay – Between £130-210 per day
10. Hours –
11. Contract – Full-time until the end of the Academic Year in July 2026. Temporary Contract.

Experience/Qualifications and Requirements:
14. An Enhanced DBS (ideally on the Update Service but this is not essential as we can process a new one for you)
15. QTS and Primary School Teaching experience within the UK.
16. Experience of short, medium and long-term planning
17. Experience of utilising a range of methods to assess pupil progress
18. Strong knowledge of the National Curriculum
19. Strong relationship-building skills with an ability to build rapport
20. A positive and resilient attitude towards Teaching and work
21. Strong organisation and communication skills
