A strong understanding of DevOps principles and culture is essential, including automation, collaboration between development and operations teams, and a focus on continuous improvement. Experience implementing or supporting Infrastructure as Code (IaC), monitoring, and deployment automation is required. Hands-on experience designing, maintaining, or optimizing CI/CD (Continuous Integration & Continuous Deployment) pipelines to ensure efficient, reliable, and repeatable software builds, testing, and releases is expected. Familiarity with tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps, Bamboo, or GitHub Actions is advantageous. Responsibilities: I will rely on you to define engineering processes, standards, and guidance covering the end-to-end lifecycle of various components (software, infrastructure, service management, etc.), enabling the repeatable delivery of governed and assured products. You will enable engineering governance, working across multiple suppliers to ensure quality artifacts are consistently produced to standards. It will be your responsibility to define engineering and automation tooling requirements and architecture and support teams in delivering this technology along with the necessary supporting processes. Ensuring the engineering function delivers value to our customers' businesses and achieves their strategic goals through the delivery of engineering concepts, guidance, and artifacts will be a key aspect of your role. I expect you to manage the Engineering Community of Practice, leading a team of engineering-focused individuals to deliver the wider engineering function.
