We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Bids Writer to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing high-quality tender submissions and bid documents that meet client requirements, reflect our expertise, and help drive business growth.
What You'll Be Doing:
In this role, you'll take ownership of producing clear, compelling, and professional bids and proposals that help us secure new contracts across a wide range of sectors. Key responsibilities include:
* Prepare, write, and edit bid and tender documents, ensuring accuracy, clarity, and compliance with client specifications to produce persuasive and targeted responses.
* Collaborating with essential stakeholders to guarantee efficient coordination and the prompt finalisation of bids.
* Collaborate with internal teams, including Estimators, Project Managers, and the Business Development team, to gather necessary information for bids.
* Maintain a library of standard content, case studies, and templates for use in bids.
* Create fresh bidding content informed by research and collaboration throughout the company.
* Ensure all submissions meet deadlines and are delivered on time.
* Review and refine bids to ensure they align with company branding, tone of voice, and value proposition.
* Support the Business Development team in analysing tender requirements and identifying opportunities.
* Conduct post-submission reviews to capture lessons learned and improve future bids.
* Keep up to date with industry trends, competitors, and regulations to enhance bid effectiveness.
What We're Looking For:
To succeed as a Bids Writer, you'll need excellent writing skills, commercial awareness, and the ability to manage multiple deadlines. We're looking for someone who:
* Minimum of 2 years of experience in bid writing, tender preparation, or proposal development within the Fire and Security Industry.
* Familiarity with Fire alarms, Intruder Alarms, Access Control, and CCTV systems is preferred, though training will be provided.
* Demonstrated competence in managing bids for a wide range of projects, from small-scale to large-scale contracts.
* Experience working in both small businesses and larger organisations, with an understanding of how processes differ.
* Exposure to multiple sectors, including schools, commercial, industrial, healthcare, government, and other relevant industries.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills.
* Excellent attention to detail and power to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
* Capability to understand technical, financial, and operational information.
* Commercial awareness and ability to analyse client requirements.
