We are seeking enthusiastic Behaviour Mentors to work in our partner SEND schools for the upcoming academic year.
The Behaviour Mentor will support students with challenging behaviour by providing tailored interventions and strategies to help them manage emotions, develop coping skills, and succeed academically.
Responsibilities:
* Work one-on-one and in small groups with students exhibiting challenging behaviour, providing targeted support and interventions.
* Develop and implement individualized behaviour plans in collaboration with teachers, parents, and professionals.
* Support students in understanding and managing emotions, promoting self-regulation and positive coping strategies.
* Monitor and record student behaviour and progress, providing feedback to staff and stakeholders.
* Act as a positive role model, fostering respectful and empathetic relationships.
* Collaborate with staff to create a supportive learning environment, implementing behaviour management strategies.
* Train and guide teachers and support staff on behaviour management techniques for SEND students.
Requirements:
* Experience working with students with SEND, especially those with challenging behaviour.
* Strong knowledge of behaviour management strategies and ability to develop behaviour plans.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Patience, empathy, resilience.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team with a proactive approach.
* Commitment to equality, diversity, and inclusion.
* Qualifications or training in SEND, Psychology, Counselling, or Behaviour Management are advantageous.
