Responsibilities
* Reporting into the EMEA Payroll Manager. The senior payroll consultant will support the France Payroll Team lead/manager within the EMEA Payroll Operations group (GHR Shared Services).
* Provide regular oversight to the monthly pay process, contribute to team expertise, identify efficiencies, and coordinate with the pay vendor to ensure timely delivery.
* Contribute to the overall goals of EMEA HR Shared Services and strengthen partnerships across teams.
* Support and participate in payroll strategy and stakeholder engagement; deliver services to employees and other stakeholders.
* Identify gaps, implement processes, and drive improvements in collaboration with key stakeholders.
* Maintain regular vendor engagement with the EMEA/FR Pay manager to manage changes in FR payroll, ensuring compliance and clarity for employees.
* Participate in key payroll deliverable projects and provide FR Pay process support for monthly BAU activities (e.g., audit requests, post-audit findings).
* Manage and process monthly payroll for France entities, including benefits and taxes, in compliance with French law.
* Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders for monthly and annual reporting; collaborate with the Financial Governance Team to ensure a clean balance sheet.
* Respond to ad-hoc employee and GHR queries; liaise with local authorities when required to ensure regulatory alignment.
* Ensure risk controls and SOX compliance are adopted with ongoing process improvements; liaise with internal and external audits as appropriate.
Required Skills
* French payroll experience
* Strong knowledge of French payroll legislation and statutory obligations
* Excellent Excel skills
* Proficiency with multiple payroll software packages
* Ability to work proactively to drive efficiencies and introduce ideas for a better working environment
* Excellent teamwork and ability to build effective relationships with flexibility
* Ability to prioritise workload and manage multiple deadlines aligned with payroll schedules
* Strong written and verbal communication skills across levels and with external bodies
* High accuracy and attention to detail
* Fluent in English and French, spoken and written
Desirable
* Experience in banking or large corporate environments
* Understanding of payroll accounting and finance
* Wider regional payroll experience
