Sheridan Maine is excited to be partnering with a dynamic organisation based in Southampton. They are seeking a Financial Controller on a contract basis, with extensive experience in managing the finance function and a small team.The key responsibilities of this role will include:
* Managing the end-to-end accounting function for the business
* Overseeing payroll processing and credit control activities
* Producing statutory reports and submitting accounts
* Supporting, mentoring, and upskilling a small finance team as needed
* Playing a key role in producing analysis and commentary for all business reports in a timely manner
* Being a strong team player and collaborating closely with the Finance Director and assisting with ad hoc tasks as required.
The successful candidate will have the following skills and experience:
* Fully qualified accountant (ACCA/CIMA/ACA) or QBE with substantial relevant experience
* Proven management and leadership experience
* Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to liaise with finance and non-finance individuals
* Advanced Excel and systems skills
* Experience overseeing transactional finance, especially payroll operations
