Are you somebody that has experience in delivering care/support to vulnerable people and feel like you'd like a fresh challenge in a rewarding environment? At Vision for Education, we are currently seeking experienced professionals to work as SEN Teaching Assistants in Primary Schools in central York and the surrounding areas.
The Role – SEN Teaching Assistant
Location: York and surrounding areas
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 4:00pm (term time only)
Start Date: ASAP – Immediate starts available
Contract: Full time preferred, part time considered
As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you'll be supporting children aged 2–11 with a variety of complex needs, including autism, physical disabilities, and learning difficulties. Responsibilities include:
1. Providing one-to-one and small group support
2. Aiding communication and classroom engagement
3. Supporting mobility and physical needs
4. Delivering personal care respectfully and sensitively
5. Working closely with teaching staff and therapists to provide a nurturing environment
What We’re Looking For:
6. Experience in care or support work (children or adults)
7. A compassionate and resilient nature
8. Confidence in providing personal care when needed
9. Ability to commit to the school’s working hours
10. An enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
11. Able to provide references, and proof of right to work and address
