Assistant Headteacher of Lower school LS - L12
Secondment opportunity to start January 2025 for two terms
Governors are looking to appoint an ambitious and aspiring senior leader to inspire staff and learners across the Lower School. Although primarily based at the Tillery Street campus, the role does require collaboration and leadership across all three primary campuses within Abertillery Learning Community.
The successful candidate will be able to lead and work well with a team and will share their passion for lifelong learning with all stakeholders. Experience of all aspects of primary school life will be a key requirement including learner wellbeing, curriculum development, improving teaching and learning and the use of assessment and data to drive progress.
The successful candidate will have experience of supporting the day-to-day operational running of a school including communicating with parents, carrying out the role of DSP and managing behaviour. Experience and understanding of teaching and leading in Progression Step 3 is also desirable.
In return, the successful candidate will benefit from working with an experienced, supportive, inclusive leadership team and a supportive Governing Body who work effectively together to bring about continuous improvement.
ALC is based in the town of Abertillery. It comprises a Secondary Campus and 3 Primary campuses, it is an exciting and unique organisation and, as a multi campus all through school, all staff are afforded a wide range of opportunities for carefully co-ordinated cross phase working that support both learner and staff development.
