We're on the lookout for dedicated Mentors to join our team and work with children and young people across Fareham and surrounding areas. This is a meaningful opportunity to make a real difference through impactful, one-to-one mentoring sessions.
As a Mentor, you will:
Mentoring sessions are designed to:
Build confidence and self-esteem
Teach life skills such as cooking, communication, and self-care
Support mental health through activities like walking and talking
Encourage positive social interaction through games and outings
Help young people navigate the world with confidence and resilienceYou'll be a trusted adult role model, offering guidance, encouragement, and practical support to help them become well-rounded individuals.
We offer vacancies ranging from 2 to 15 hours per week, typically during school hours. Sessions are spread across the week and can be tailored to suit your availability:
4 hours/week: 2 hours across 2 days or 1 hour across 4 days
5 hours/week: 1 hour a day, Monday to Friday
6 hours/week: 2 hours across 3 days, 3 hours across 2 days, or 1.5 hours across 4 days
10 hours/week: 2 hours a day, Monday to Friday
15 hours/week: 3 hours a day, Monday to FridayAbout you:

Essential & Desirable Qualifications:
Minimum of 1 year of experience working with young peopleTo be eligible for this role through Prospero teaching, you must:
Hold right to work in the UK
Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
Provide references upon request
Possess up to date Safeguarding Training (or a willingness to undertake this)
