DESCRIPTION

We are looking for an enthusiastic Electrical Engineering Apprentice to join our team specializing in Electrical Power System Engineering for our Power Systems Business Unit in UK, Sandwich office. During your apprenticeship with us, you will learn how a major global organization operates, gaining the tools and exposure you will need to become an expert in the industry and power your potential!

Summary of the course:

The Electrical, Electronic Technical Support Engineer Apprentice role is a developmental position within the Cummins Power System Business Unit During the apprenticeship you will work 5 days per week, studying at Warwick University on a block release scheme attending 1 week per month. The working hours are flexible that suit business needs. On completion of this apprenticeship, you will obtain a Bachelor of Engineering degree qualification. Course duration is 42 months followed by 12-month end point assessment.

Please consider when applying for this role, you would need to be on the providers site (Warwick University) for a full week each month which you would need to accommodate for yourself on your own behalf, this is vital part of the apprenticeship.

RESPONSIBILITIES

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

1. Diesel Power Generating equipment producing up to 3MW

2. Generator Control Systems

3. Full Authority engine communications

4. LV, HV Alternators sizing and selection

5. Simulation based validation processes

6. Develop generator ancillary systems

QUALIFICATIONS

To be successful in this role you will need the following:

7. GCSE grades in Math's at 6 or above, English literature and Language at 4, Physics at a grade 5 or above and all additional subject at grades 4, or above.

8. Minimum of 112 UCAS points is essential and required.

9. A level in Maths at B grade is essential and required.

10. Other A Levels or equivalent to the qualification in Engineering/physics to the qualification is desirable.

11. Passion and demonstrated interest in Electrical and Electronic systems

12. Strong Mathematic and applied Physics

13. Analytical problem-solving skills

14. Ability to communicate effectively
