Due to growth, they are looking for a Quality Assurance Technician to play a key role in delivering exceptional products to their customers in this exciting full-time, permanent position based in Wormingford, Colchester, Essex.

About the role:
As a Quality Assurance Technician, you will be part of their quality team, reporting directly to the Quality Manager. You will ensure that their production meets the highest standards of quality and food safety. You will work closely with the production team, assisting in daily quality tasks, and supporting a culture of continuous improvement on the shop floor.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
* Assist the Quality Manager in day-to-day quality assurance tasks and deputise when necessary.
* Conduct thorough quality and food safety checks, ensuring all production meets high standards.
* Maintain accurate production records and ensure all appropriate signoffs are completed daily.
* Participate in the internal auditing team to guarantee compliance with BRC standards.
* Engage in allergen testing, verification, and validation while maintaining hygiene levels at a high standard.
About you:
As a Quality Assurance Technician, you will have previous experience in a similar role or hold a minimum of two years’ education in food science (e.g. HND) or a relevant degree. A background in food manufacturing would be advantageous. Have a keen eye for detail, possess strong communication skills and have the confidence to challenge when necessary. You will be proficient in spoken and written English, along with solid computer skills. While experience in food safety and hygiene, HACCP training, Internal Auditing experience and BRC Standards is preferred, they are committed to providing the necessary training for the right candidate.
