An exciting opportunity for a Group Credit Manager has become available at our Head Office. This role involves leading Credit Control for our group of companies, reporting to the Finance Director. The position will oversee credit-related activities such as risk management, developing credit policies, and managing the team. It is an office-based role at our Head Office in Shirley, near the M42.
The successful candidate will:
* Have prior experience working within a busy credit control team,
* Have strong financial understanding,
* Possess problem-solving skills,
* Be confident in leading a team,
* Be self-motivated and driven,
* Have excellent communication skills to liaise with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring the success of the credit function.
Key responsibilities include:
* Act as the lead contact with Credit Insurers, monitor insured limits, submit claims accurately and promptly, and assist in renewal negotiations,
* Organise and lead monthly meetings with senior management,
* Provide management information on bad debts, debtor days, collections, and other reports,
* Manage cash collection for all group companies,
* Ensure departmental systems and protocols are effective and enforced,
* Oversee the Credit Control Department and manage the team proactively,
* Process credit applications and provide PODs,
* Make major or sensitive credit decisions,
* Control credit limits,
* Handle litigation, insolvency cases, and pursue claims,
* Set and manage credit policies and credit notes,
* Assess risk for existing accounts and new applicants,
* Maintain strong relationships with stakeholders,
* Review sales Terms and Conditions prior to approval,
* Visit customers and company sites as needed.
