Job Overview
This 7‑session post is based in Portree Ward, the Intensive Psychiatric Care Unit at Stobhill Hospital in the north east of Glasgow. You will work alongside another Consultant Psychiatrist IPCU, and maintain close contact with General Adult Psychiatric Consultants in the North East Division and additional on‑site subspecialties. The ward is supported by a well‑developed multi‑disciplinary team and strong administrative assistance.
Responsibilities
• Provide consultancy and psychiatric care to adult patients in an intensive setting.
• Work collaboratively with the IPCU consultant and multidisciplinary team.
• Participate in clinical governance, audit and education within the unit.
• Contribute to the development and review of clinical protocols and patient pathways.
Qualifications and Registration
• Full GMC registration and a licence to practice.
• Higher Specialist Training leading to a CCT, eligibility for specialist registration (CESR) or be within six months of confirmed entry at the time of interview (UK‑trained applicants).
• Non‑UK applicants must demonstrate equivalent training.
• Approved Medical Practitioner status under the Mental Health (Care and Treatment) (Scotland) Act 2003.
