The Role – Maintenance Engineer
You will play a key role in ensuring site reliability through a mix of PPMs, TPMs and reactive maintenance across a wide variety of automated machinery. The role offers a true 50/50 split between mechanical and electrical engineering.
Key Responsibilities:
Carry out planned and reactive maintenance on production equipment.
Fault find both electrically (sensors, motors, relays, PLCs) and mechanically (bearings, pneumatics, hydraulics, conveyors).
Support improvement projects and reliability initiatives across site.
Interrogate PLCs (Siemens S7/TIA Portal) at input/output level.
Work on ABB robotics, Trumpf laser robots, welding machinery, conveyors, and assembly equipment.
Use SAP systems for maintenance planning and reporting.
About You
Essentials:
Time-served Apprenticeship with Level 3 Qualification (Electrical or Mechanical).
Minimum 2 years’ experience in a factory/manufacturing environment.
Strong fault-finding skills (both mechanical & electrical).
Familiar with pneumatics, hydraulics, and automated machinery.
Experience in preventative maintenance and problem-solving.
PLC fault finding exposure.
Desirable:
Background in automotive or high-volume manufacturing.
Familiarity with Siemens & ABB robotics.
