Contractor Quantity Surveyor Location: Manchester, UK Salary: £50,000 £55,000 per annum Working Hours: Full Time Monday to Friday, 9:00am 5:00pm About the Company: We are a family-owned property developer and main contractor with a substantial commercial property portfolio across the UK. Based in South Manchester, the business has successfully delivered the development and refurbishment of over 2 million sq. ft. of office and industrial space. Our projects are primarily located across the North West and West Midlands, with an exciting pipeline of over 500,000 sq. ft. of new-build developments planned over the next 1824 months. Working closely with asset management teams and supply chain partners, we deliver innovative, high-quality commercial developments, including new-build industrial schemes and major refurbishment projects. The Role: We are seeking an experienced Contractor Quantity Surveyor to join our development and construction team in Manchester. This permanent role offers the opportunity to work across a diverse portfolio of commercial, industrial, and development projects, supporting the successful delivery of projects from planning through to completion. The successful candidate will play a key role in cost management, contract administration, and project coordination, ensuring developments are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. Key Responsibilities: Deliver day-to-day commercial management of projects on site Work closely with design teams, consultants, and project stakeholders Coordinate and collate contract award packages Develop project documentation, programmes, and master budgets Price and estimate project costs across development stages Maintain robust document control systems Ensure compliance with internal governance frameworks Monitor and report contractor progress against programmes Assist in ensuring consultant teams deliver design and build projects in line with contract requirements Develop work breakdown structures for cost estimating and contract placement Review and assess scope of works for contract packages Monitor all stages of project execution to ensure professional and accurate cost management About You: The ideal candidate will have strong commercial awareness and experience working within the construction or development sector. You will ideally have: A degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related discipline A Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS) card or the ability to obtain one Strong understanding of construction processes and contractual documentation Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications Experience in construction management, civil or structural engineering, contract management, or quantity surveying Strong initiative, leadership, and communication skills Ability to build strong relationships with consultants, contractors, and stakeholders Experience using construction management or project management software A proactive mindset with strong problem-solving abilities What We Offer: Competitive salary Pension scheme Annual salary review Career development and training opportunities On-site parking Opportunity to work on a diverse pipeline of commercial development projects
