On behalf of a client, we are looking for a Chief Officer / SDPO. Applicants must hold a UK passport or UK work permit. Role Overview: TheChief Officer (SDPO)is responsible for the safe and efficient daily operation of the vessel, supervising deck crew and cargo operations, and assisting the Master in all navigational and maritime duties. As theSafety and Dynamic Positioning Officer, they ensure DP operations, vessel positioning, and marine safety comply with company and regulatory standards, supporting offshore wind farm installation and maintenance activities. Key Responsibilities: Operational Duties: Act asDeputy to the Master, assuming command when required. Serve asSDPO, responsible for safe and efficientDynamic Positioning operationsduring turbine installation, maintenance, and jack-up operations. Plan and supervisedeck, crane, and cargo operations, including loading, stowage, and lifting of project equipment. Overseeballast control, jacking operations coordination, and marine systems monitoring. Maintainnavigational watchand ensure compliance with COLREGS and company standing orders. Safety and Compliance: Serve asShipboard Safety Officer, promoting a strong safety culture and adherence to theISM Code,IMCA, andOCIMFstandards. Conduct regularsafety drills, toolbox talks, and risk assessments. Ensure compliance with flag state, class, and client-specific QHSE requirements. Maintain up-to-date records for drills, permits, and safety inspections. Leadership & Crew Management: Lead deck crew, Bosun, and ABs, ensuring high performance, training, and compliance with company policies. Liaise withvessel management, clients, and marine coordinatorson operational planning and safety. Mentor junior officers and contribute to professional development. Technical & DP Operations Operate and maintain vessel'sDP control systems, ensuring precise positioning and quick response to contingencies. Maintain DP logbooks, event records, and DP system maintenance reports. Participate inFMEA testing, DP trials, and audits.
