Consultant Clinical Haematologist
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Consultant Hematologist to join our dynamic Haematology team. The post involves delivering high‑quality clinical and laboratory haematology services, including the diagnosis and management of both malignant and non‑malignant blood disorders. The successful candidate will provide specialist outpatient and inpatient care, support safe transfusion practice, and contribute to multidisciplinary team meetings for the management of haematological conditions.
Main duties of the job
* Provide specialist inpatient and outpatient care for malignant and non‑malignant haematological conditions.
* Lead and participate in multidisciplinary team (MDT) meetings for blood cancer and complex haematology cases.
* Oversee and interpret laboratory haematology investigations, including blood films and bone marrow samples.
* Support safe and effective transfusion practice and provide clinical advice on blood component use.
* Participate in the delivery of chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and other specialist treatments.
* Contribute to service development, clinical governance, audit, and quality improvement initiatives.
* Teach and supervise junior medical staff, students, and other healthcare professionals.
* Participate in the on‑call rota for haematology services.

Person Specification
Essential
* Full registration with GMC to licence and practice.
* UK trained and must hold CCT or be within six months of award of CCT by interview date.
* Broad general experience of haematology during SpR/ST rotation.
* Demonstrate leadership skills within multidisciplinary team.
Desirable
* MD/PhD/MBA.
* MRCP or equivalent.
* Interest in clinical trials.
* Attend Management Training Courses.
