The Role

We are looking for a Director level Data & AI leader to join our practice and play a pivotal role in shaping and scaling impactful Data and AI products and services. This is a senior client-facing role suited to someone who blends:

1. Strategic vision (how AI reshapes operating models, value chains and growth)

2. Deep operational delivery experience (how transformation actually lands in complex organisations)

3. Credible data and AI expertise (modern platforms, Gen AI, Agentic AI, AI Ops, AI Governance & Controls)

You will act as a trusted adviser to executives, lead multi-disciplinary teams and help clients move from AI ambition to adoption at scale across people, process, technology, data and controls working cross-sector.

Location: UK & Ireland (hybrid, with Liverpool and client travel as required)

Key Responsibilities

Shape market-leading offerings (products and services)

4. Define and evolve our Data and AI transformation services, accelerators and repeatable assets

5. Translate market demand into clear propositions, roadmaps and adoption approaches

6. Drive consistency and quality across delivery methods, tooling, templates and playbooks

7. Partner with alliances and engineering teams to build solutions with hyperscalers and platforms (e.g. Microsoft, AWS, Google, Elastic, Databricks etc.)

Trusted adviser for executive stakeholders

Engage CxO and senior leaders (CIO, COO, CDO, CFO, CRO) as a credible adviser on:

8. AI strategy and operating model

9. Data modernisation and AI readiness

10. Agentic AI enablement

11. Risk, governance and controls (model risk, data ethics, compliance)

12. Lead advisory engagements from framing through decision support, business case and roadmap

Deliver transformation outcomes by owning the delivery outcomes across large, complex programmes including:

13. Data platforms, data products and data mesh enablement

14. AI/ML and GenAI productionisation

15. Decision intelligence and AI-enabled operations

16. Lead cross-functional teams spanning data engineering, architecture, AI engineering, governance, product and change

Growth and leadership

17. Drive new business: identify opportunities, shape propositions, lead responses, support commercial negotiations

18. Provide thought leadership in the market: events, roundtables, client workshops, POVs

19. Coach senior consultants and managers, raising capability across the practice

20. Contribute to hiring, talent development and practice culture

Who You Are

Core experience

21. 10–15+ years in transformation roles (consulting, industry or hybrid), with Director-level or equivalent leadership experience

22. Demonstrated ownership of end-to-end transformation: discovery → roadmap → delivery → adoption → value realisation

23. Strong background in data and AI with enough depth to credibly challenge architects and engineering teams

24. Strong commercial experience: shaping deals, proposals, governance, financial accountability

Data & AI capabilities (must have)

25. Modern data architectures: cloud data platforms, lakehouse patterns, data products, lineage and observability

26. AI/ML life cycle: model development to production (MLOps), monitoring, drift, governance

27. GenAI/Agentic AI: use-case identification, enterprise enablement, controls and safety patterns

28. Strong understanding of Responsible AI, model risk and regulatory expectations (esp. FS, insurance, regulated industries)

Leadership behaviours

29. Executive presence: confident with senior client stakeholders, challenge/support dynamic

30. High accountability: drives decisions, clears obstacles, sets direction and delivers outcomes

31. Collaborative, cross-functional operator: can lead alliances, engineering, delivery, change and client teams

32. Strong narrative skills: can turn complexity into a clear story and plan

Desirable (Nice to have)

33. Prior experience in Financial Services, Banking, Insurance or regulated sectors

34. Experience building consulting offerings or running a practice portfolio

35. Familiarity with enterprise transformation frameworks (operating model, TOM, governance)

36. Exposure to innovation topics (agentic patterns, digital twins, quantum enablement, advanced optimisation)
