About the Role As an XRF Chemist within our Analysis and Evaluation team at Lucideon, you will take a leading role in analytical method development and validation. Your role will focus on delivering accurate elemental analysis across diverse material types, ensuring compliance with UKAS and ISO 17025 standards whilst driving continuous improvement in XRF capabilities. You’ll not only perform routine and complex XRF analyses but also lead calibration, and optimisation projects. Your expertise will help solve challenging problems for clients in sectors such as nuclear, healthcare, energy, construction, and advanced materials. Key Responsibilities Perform high-quality elemental analysis using XRF across a wide range of materials. Lead method development, calibration, and validation for XRF techniques. Troubleshoot and optimise XRF processes to improve accuracy and efficiency. Maintain compliance with UKAS and ISO 17025 standards. Provide technical guidance and interpretation of XRF results to internal teams and clients. Ensure meticulous documentation and reporting of all work. Support innovation and continuous improvement in XRF methodologies. Who You Are A hands-on XRF expert with proven experience in an analytical laboratory setting. Strong understanding of XRF theory and its practical applications. Skilled in method development, validation, and problem-solving. Detail-oriented, organised, and able to work under pressure. Excellent communicator with a proactive, solutions-focused mindset. Essential Skills & Experience Demonstrated experience in XRF analysis (not just general analytical chemistry). Ability to interpret and apply XRF data for client solutions. Familiarity with UKAS and ISO 17025 requirements. Strong technical and troubleshooting skills. Qualifications Degree in Chemistry, Materials Science, Geochemistry or related discipline (or equivalent experience). Evidence of practical XRF experience is essential.
