SEMH Teaching Assistant (Year 5)
Location: Sutton (Primary)
Start Date: Immediate
Salary: £600 - £620 per week
Horizon Teachers are working in partnership with a Primary School in Sutton seeking a committed SEMH Teaching Assistant to support a Year 5 pupil on a one-to-one basis, starting immediately.
This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting children with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, and who can build positive, trusting relationships to help a child thrive both academically and emotionally.
The role will involve:
Providing 1:1 support for a Year 5 pupil with SEMH needs
Supporting emotional regulation, engagement and positive behaviour
Working closely with the class teacher, SENCo and wider support team
Helping the pupil access the curriculum and develop social skills
Creating a safe, nurturing and consistent learning environmentWe are looking for someone who:
Has experience working with children with SEMH or additional needs (desirable)
Is calm, patient, resilient and empathetic
Can use positive behaviour strategies effectively
Is able to work well as part of a team and follow individual support plans
