Weāre currently looking to recruit Full-Time Care Assistants/Care Proessional to join our friendly, dedicated team supporting service users living in our residential care unit in the Hertford area of Hertfordshire.
š Work Location ā Bircherley Court, Hertford
Bircherley Court is a modern residential care community, originally built in the 1970s and now beautifully redeveloped in the heart of Hertford town centre, close to local shops and amenities.
The scheme includes 58 renovated flats and 12 new apartments, alongside exceptional communal facilities such as:

The care support is delivered through the Flex Care model, which adapts to each individualās needs, ensuring that every resident receives the right level of personalised care.

ā° Shift Patterns
Our services run 7 days a week, offering flexible shifts to suit your lifestyle:
5. Day Shifts: 8:00/9:00 AM ā 2:00/3:00 PM
6. Evening Shifts: 4:00 PM ā 9:00 PM
7. Sleep-in / Waking Nights: 9:00 PM ā 7:00 AM

Job Description
š¼ Your Role as a Senior Care Assistant
As a Senior Care Assistant, youāll be at the heart of our service, supporting residents and guiding our care team. Youāll help individuals live independently, take part in community life, and enjoy meaningful days.
Key Responsibilities
Resident Care
10. Support residents with personal care (washing, dressing, mobility, toileting, feeding).
11. Promote independence, dignity, and choice.
12. Administer medication safely (with training).
13. Keep accurate records (care plans, observations, reports).
Team Leadership
14. Supervise and mentor care assistants on shift.
15. Allocate duties fairly and ensure high standards of care.
16. Support training and development of new team members.
17. Communicate effectively with colleagues, families, and healthcare professionals.
Health & Safety
18. Monitor residentsā wellbeing and escalate concerns promptly.
19. Respond to emergencies and safeguarding issues appropriately.
20. Ensure infection control and health & safety standards are always maintained.
Qualifications

21. Genuine compassion, empathy, and patience
22. Strong communication and interpersonal skills
23. Ability to work independently and responsibly
24. Previous caregiving experience preferred (formal or informal)
25. Flexibility to work in the clientās home or care facility
Essential:
26. Previous experience as a Care Assistant or Senior Care Assistant.
27. NVQ/QCF Level 2 or 3 in Health & Social Care (or willingness to work towards).
28. Medication administration training/experience.
29. Compassionate, patient, and reliable.
30. Strong communication and leadership skills.
31. Right to work in the UK.
Desirable:
32. First aid training.
33. Knowledge of dementia, safeguarding, or palliative care.
34. Experience in a supervisory role.
