Job Summary
Doctor Air Brake Ltd is a unique HGV specialist, as we have a full Electronics & Mechanical engineering departments in addition to a 5-bay workshop. We pride ourselves on investing in people and state-of-the-art diagnostics brake test equipment, this coupled with our skills base puts us at the front of modern HGV service & maintenance. We're now looking for an HGV (Heavy Goods Vehicle) Workshop Manager overseeing all aspects of the workshop operations, ensuring the efficient functioning of the facility and the delivery of high-quality maintenance and repair services.
We need a hands-on person who can take up this role making efficient use of our team of technicians and ensuring workflow is controlled in a timely manner. Leading from the front you'll need a structured approach to organising inspections, servicing and repairing of Trucks & Trailers, meeting customer agreed deadlines and cross-checking quality
Duties
* Manage daily workshop operations, ensuring adherence to quality standards and safety regulations.
* Supervise and lead a team of technicians and workers, providing guidance and support as needed.
* Develop and implement project plans using Primavera P6, ensuring timely completion of tasks.
* Monitor workflow, allocate resources effectively, and resolve any issues that may arise during production.
* Conduct regular training sessions for staff to enhance skills and promote best practices within the workshop.
* Maintain accurate records of project progress, equipment usage, and staff performance.
* Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless communication and coordination on projects.
Requirements
* Proven experience in a management role within a workshop or manufacturing environment.
* Strong supervising experience with the ability to motivate and lead a diverse team.
* Proficiency in Primavera P6 for project scheduling and management is essential.
* Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail.
* Strong problem-solving abilities and the capacity to work under pressure.
* Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, to liaise with team members and stakeholders.
