Title: Assistant Finance Business Partner
Type: Temporary - 12 weeks with possible extension

We are seeking a proactive individual to join our effective Finance Business Partnering team, which provides strategic, value-added services to the Council.
Your role will involve providing budget holders with high-quality advice, analysis, and information to support effective decision-making and performance management. You will also offer senior and service managers expert advice on financial management, accounting issues, and value for money, supporting strategic policy development and ensuring financial discipline in decision-making processes. Your efforts will contribute to high customer satisfaction and positively impact the Council’s operations.
You will excel in reporting, analysis, and financial control, ensuring best practices are followed and financial information is accurately reported within the Council’s systems. Additionally, you will identify risks and opportunities affecting the Council’s financial health.
To succeed, you should be AAT qualified or hold an equivalent business/accounting degree, ideally CCAB qualified or working towards it. Knowledge of local government finance and experience advising senior management in large or complex organizations are essential. You should be proactive in spotting trends, opportunities for change, and solutions to budgeting issues, advocating for improvements in financial management.
