Overview
We are seeking a Consultant / Senior Consultant in Industrialised Design and Construction (IDC) to join our IDC team. This role is for someone with hands-on experience in Design for Manufacture and Assembly (DfMA) and Modern Methods of Construction (MMC), who is passionate about driving innovation and digital transformation in the built environment. You may be recently chartered or working towards professional accreditation with a recognised body (e.g., ICE, IStructE, IMechE, IET, CIAT, CIBSE, CIOB, RICS, RIBA). This role offers the chance to shape the future of construction delivery across major infrastructure programmes.
We lead in adopting and implementing IDC, helping clients achieve improved productivity, cost efficiency, and certainty across the Built Environment. Our team works across Buildings (Healthcare, Education, Cities), Water & Environment, and Nuclear projects.
As an IDC advisor, you will work with clients, design teams, manufacturers, and contractors to embed DfMA, MMC, and platform-based approaches into projects and programmes.
Responsibilities
* Support the development and implementation of IDC strategies across client portfolios and programmes, contributing to measurable improvements in delivery efficiency and consistency
* Apply DfMA and MMC principles to optimise design, delivery, and operational outcomes—demonstrating value through improved constructability, reduced waste, or enhanced programme certainty
* Contribute to standardised tools, methods, and delivery models to embed repeatable, scalable solutions across projects
* Assist in developing IDC metrics and performance indicators for data-driven decision-making and continuous improvement
* Support creation of case studies, lessons learned, and a library of IDC approaches for knowledge sharing
* Engage in capacity-building activities, including mentoring and internal knowledge sharing
* Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate IDC principles from concept to completion
* Contribute to the development of digital tools and data models to support industrialised delivery
* Participate in client workshops, stakeholder engagement, and delivery assurance activities
