A supportive primary school in Sefton is looking for an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to support a child in Year 4 from September. The role will focus on providing consistent 1:1 support, helping the pupil manage their behaviour, stay engaged in lessons, and build positive relationships in school.
Key Responsibilities:
* Providing tailored 1:1 support to a child in Year 4 with ADHD and additional needs
* Implementing behaviour management strategies and supporting emotional regulation
* Encouraging focus, motivation and positive learning behaviours throughout the school day
* Adapting classroom tasks to meet individual needs and targets
* Collaborating with the class teacher, SENCO and external agencies to provide joined-up support
What We're Looking For:
* Experience supporting children with ADHD and challenging behaviour
* Strong behaviour management and de-escalation skills
* A calm, consistent and nurturing approach when working with pupils
* Resilience, empathy and the ability to build trust with children who may struggle in school
* Team Teach training (or similar) is desirable but not essential
