Network Director Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Network Director to lead our Networks and Innovation team in developing innovative solutions and solving complex problems associated with achieving net zero.
The successful candidate will have technical expertise in power system planning and analysis, as well as a good understanding of the GB power system. This role is suited to an experienced power systems engineer with management experience who is keen to lead, develop and inspire a growing team of ambitious engineers.
Duties and Responsibilities
* Department Management: Foster a collaborative and high-performing team environment, promoting effective communication and teamwork among team members.
* Business Development: Identify new business opportunities and areas for growth with established clients, maintain a healthy pipeline of work for the department, and foster continuing good relationships with existing clients and understand their current and future needs.
* Team Growth and Development: Mentor and develop team members, ensure the department has the necessary resources and skills to deliver for clients, and provide guidance and advice on project management and technical delivery of work.
* Strategic Planning: Stay abreast of industry trends and developments, participate in strategic planning, and contribute to the development of the team's annual strategic plan.
Requirements
* At least 8 years of experience working in the regulated energy industry.
* Prior experience of working in a consultancy environment or procuring those services as a client.
* Proven track record in leading and managing technical teams.
* Experience in business development and client-facing activities.
* Ability to engage with clients, forming long-term and mutually beneficial relationships.
* Commercial awareness of consultancy projects, including setting and adhering to project budgets, scrutiny and understanding of contractual obligations, and identification and mitigation of commercial risks.
