Overview
Our Shift Leader rate of pay starts from £14.76 an hour; this increases to £15.97 for stores inside the M25. Additional payments may also apply depending on location.
It’s our policy to offer new colleagues joining us a minimum of 16 guaranteed hours each week, but if you’d like to work fewer hours (to a minimum of 12) we have opportunities for this too and would still love to hear from you.
The availability windows indicate the periods of time in the week we’d like you to be available to work. We will schedule your contracted hours within these times, and you’ll have 3 weeks’ notice of exactly when your shifts will be. We are happy to support flexibility for our colleagues, therefore if the times you’re available to work match closely but not exactly to the times we are advertising, we’d still love to hear from you. Role summary
This role leads from the front with your colleagues.
* Work in a fast paced fulfilment environment where no day is the same.
* Take ownership of Delivery activities by running the daily operation, co-ordinating the team to deliver a seamless home shopping delivery experience.
* Prioritise workload to ensure the equipment and the loading of the vans ensure a smooth doorstep service for customers.
* Constantly look for ways to improve service & safety in your centre through on the job coaching and feedback to others.
* Have a great understanding of how your centre is performing and support Managers to deliver practical actions for improvement by taking a hands on approach.
* Guide, coach and oversee colleagues to ensure colleagues are in the right place, at the right time and doing the right tasks.
* Responsible for the day to day replenishment operation in the centre, ensuring deliveries are taken in, worked and the centre is clean and tidy.
* Able to build strong long lasting relationships with colleagues to create a team spirit, encouraging them to be at their best.
* A clear communicator and use a variety of methods to keep the team well informed.
* Confident in leading the team and communicating with visitors, contractors and security team.
* Flexible in the way you think, making decisions efficiently and handling change to ensure everything we do is right for the customers and colleagues.
* Energetic, driving and motivating others to deliver beyond expectations and effectively balance priorities.

You will be responsible for
Coordinating the team to deliver great availability for customers and safe operations:
* Running the operation on a day to day basis, making sure daily operational decisions are right for colleagues and customers during shifts.
* Ensuring the team always delivers the shopping trip and addresses on-line customer issues to ensure great service and full resolution.
* Ensuring colleagues are in the right place completing the right tasks, liaising with others to ensure on-time online orders.
* Ensuring Customer Delivery Drivers receive all relevant training as part of their role.
* Ensuring Customer Delivery Drivers and Colleagues understand substitutions and date code policies.
* Keeping the delivery area clean, tidy and well presented.
* Co-ordinating Customer Delivery Drivers, ensuring efficient operation and appropriate breaks.
* Being knowledgeable about the centre and coordinating others to deliver practical improvements.
* Following company, legislative and health & safety routines and ensuring others do the same.
* Delivering communication to the Customer Delivery team when there are cascades from management.
* Looking for ways to simplify operations and sharing ideas with management.
* Putting the customer first in all actions and recognising team achievements.
* Removing obstacles to deliver great service.
* Communicating with delivery teams as required and ensuring drivers have what they need to work safely.
